On 20 April 2026, Orrje and Jansson participated at a workshop at Jernkontoret in Stockholm for discussing environmental history of mining and metal making.

The aim of this workshop was to discuss a future programme or project proposal concerning the environmental history of the mining and metals industry from a long-term perspective. The group involved in the application consists mainly of historians and archaeologists from various Swedish universities, linked to a working group under Jernkontoret’s Mining History Committee’s expert committee. The provisional name of the project is Metals in Action: Entanglements of environment, society and industry (MIA).
